Blodgett Hospital’s post-anesthesia care unit features 36 beds, one of the largest in the country. Nurses flex in and out of the PACU and Surgery Center (all on the same floor) depending on patient volumes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process within the ANA scope of practice to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.
• Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
• Partner with patients and families to incorporate their input and goals into the plan of care.
• Develop teaching strategies for patients and families; document education and learning in the health record.

Requirements

• Associate’s in Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor’s in Nursing (Required within 5 years)
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required within 90 days)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required within 6 months)
• 2+ years of ED, ICU, or Progressive Care RN experience (Preferred)
