About the role
The outpatient infusion nurse provides specialized care in Oncology, including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, blood product transfusions, and pain management. The nurse possesses skills with venous access devices such as port‑a‑caths and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective patient interventions.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and infusion therapies safely
- Manage side effects and pain for oncology patients
- Operate and care for venous access devices
- Apply nursing processes in direct patient care
- Collaborate with healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications & Skills
- Nursing degree or diploma
- Washington RN license upon hire
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred: 2+ years nursing and oncology experience
- Preferred: Chemotherapy expertise
