Job Summary

The RN participates as a member of the health care team in delivering quality health care to patients, which supports Kaiser Permanente's mission, vision, and values.

About the role

This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of RN experience within the last five (5) years or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente NW RN New Grad/transition to practice program. Minimum six (6) months of chemotherapy infusion experience and six (6) months of oncology experience are also required. A graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required, along with a high school diploma or GED. Credentials from the primary work state are required at hire, and additional credentials from secondary work states are required post-hire.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a critical thinking approach to problem solve and make decisions.
  • Participates in population-based care activities.
  • Applies technological literacy in using computerized information systems.
  • Applies effective oral and written communication skills in interacting with patients, families, and members of the health care team.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire OR Compact License: Registered Nurse within 6 months of hire
  • Registered Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support required at hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Provider Certification within 6 months of hire

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two (2) years of RN experience within the last five (5) years OR successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente NW RN New Grad/transition to practice program.
  • Minimum six (6) months of chemotherapy infusion experience.
  • Minimum six (6) months of oncology experience.
  • Current or future bachelor's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Phone advice experience preferred.
  • ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card upon hire/transfer is preferred.
  • OCN Certification preferred.
