Hillcrest Hospital’s 4 West Tower Complex Medical Care unit provides orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, and trauma services to adult and geriatric patients requiring medical, surgical, and telemetry care. The unit’s clinical specialties include heart conditions, vascular and neurological diseases, and congestive heart failure, and as a Level 2 trauma unit it offers valuable trauma experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute‑care RN experience (military RN experience will be considered).

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium work – exerting 20–50 lb occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, or up to 10 lb constantly.
• Physical demand exceeds that of Light Work.
• Use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50 – Maximum hourly: $55.60. The displayed range reflects the anticipated range for new hires; actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education. The range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with weekend and holiday work every other weekend and holiday. No on‑call requirements.
