About the role

We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and departmental strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
  • Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient needs.
  • Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
  • Evaluates and promotes change to achieve optimal outcomes using data, information, and knowledge.
  • Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improve the profession of nursing.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, managing introductions, explaining services, requesting permissions, and communicating appropriately.

Requirements

This job requires a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, but not required. A current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association are mandatory. Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred.

Skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, good time management, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills, along with the ability to demonstrate good judgment and supervise or manage others, are also required. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications is beneficial.
