About the Role
Registered Nurse (RN) to scrub and circulate surgical procedures at the Outpatient Surgery Center located at Trinity Health Ann Arbor’s Level 1 Trauma Center. The facility has 9 operating rooms averaging 40 cases per day and serves a wide variety of service lines with an expected same-day discharge: Otolaryngology, Plastics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, and Vascular. The center is a Robotic Center of Excellence and nursing staff are supported by department-based Anesthesiologists. This role functions in both scrub and circulating capacities.
Shifts available: Days and afternoons.
Responsibilities
- View patients holistically, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual factors.
- Demonstrate appropriate assessment skills for identified patient populations.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills by gathering and analyzing patient information, then responding to patient situations.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an individualized plan of care using evidence-based interventions and standards of care.
- Identify needs and plan for care across the continuum, considering patient and family preferences.
- Identify patient and family education needs; develop and implement teaching plans based on evidence-based practice, using teach-back methodology.
- Identify necessary resources to assure readiness for discharge and collaborate with other disciplines to develop the plan.
- Create an environment that promotes a positive patient experience.
- Communicate accurate, timely, concise, and thorough information verbally, in writing, and through documentation in the EMR.
- Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals, and interventions during consultation, rounds, and handoffs.
- Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships; approach conflict constructively and participate in problem resolution.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- All new hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Current Michigan Nursing License.
- BLS certification.

Pay
Pay range: $35.64 - $49.53 per hour, depending on experience and licensure date.
