About The Unit

The Grand Haven Ambulatory Surgical Center is a 1 operating room and 1 Endoscopy suite facility. It has 6 pre/post endoscopy rooms, 12 Pre/post OR rooms, and 8 PACU bays. Services include Endoscopies like Esophagogastroduodenoscopies and Colonoscopies, as well as Orthopedic, ENT, General Surgery, Pain, and Gynecological services. All surgeries are outpatient, and there are no weekend or night hours. The unit focuses on advancing assessment skills, teamwork, and flexibility.

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering a variety of primary care and specialty practices. This allows employees to explore different areas or specialize in one field.

Scope of Work

• Administers patient sedation and/or monitors post-sedation or anesthesia.
• Utilizes advanced patient assessment skills and collaborates with healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes.
• Executes nursing care at an expanded level of practice within the nursing process.
• Maintains education in ACLS and/or Sedation for safe patient care.
• If working with pediatric patients, obtains PALS training.
• Maintains expertise in intra-operative cases.
• Perioperative nurse who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients undergoing operative or invasive procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MICertified Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
• 1+ years of OR circulator or procedural RN experience preferred.
