Position Summary

The Evening Shift Operating Room Registered Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients under supervision during the peri-operative period. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential problems, providing supportive and restorative care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, coordinating services, and educating patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Staffing and coordinating patient procedures in the Operating Room, Angio Suite, and Endoscopy as necessary.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Providing care that supports and restores life and wellbeing.
• Assessing and addressing patient needs during the peri-operative period.
• Implementing treatment plans based on patient assessments and medical guidelines.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of care provided and making adjustments as needed.
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participating in on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current New York State license or permit.
• Previous O.R. experience preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Problem-solving ability to prioritize procedures and personnel designations.
• Effective communication skills to educate patients and families.

Pay

$38.63 - $55.19 per hour
