About the role
The Registered Nurse works in the Operating Room (OR) at Saint Vincent Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network (AHN). The OR is a collaborative unit that supports various specialties including orthopedic and trauma surgery. The role utilizes advanced robotic technology and has a robust cardiovascular and neurology program.
Responsibilities
- Provides transformational leadership and participates in shaping the future of healthcare.
- Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
- Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
- Cultivates a positive work environment through feedback and collaboration.
- Evaluates clinical care and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.
- Promotes patient safety initiatives and participates in quality improvement projects.
- Supervises and evaluates LPN scope of practice.
- Uses the nursing process to develop patient care plans.
- Affirms patient and family satisfaction and acts as an advocate.
- Manages time effectively and resolves patient concerns.
Qualifications
- Current State of Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state licensure through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Preferred certification in a relevant specialty.
- Pass Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearances.
- CPR certification.
