Evaluations and Reporting

Evaluates program metric performance, ensures accurate public reporting, and provides real-time feedback to drive performance improvement.

Direct Patient Care

  • Rounds on stroke patients to provide education and participate in multi-disciplinary rounds to ensure safe and timely discharge.
  • Responds to and participates in random stroke alert events to support the clinical team.

Education and Support

  • Facilitates monthly Pre-Op Classes and Support Groups for bariatric patients.
  • Manages and coordinates hospital quarterly Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Committee meetings and compliance with standards.

Quality Improvement Initiatives

  • Identifies yearly quality improvement initiatives, gathers data, and prepares initiatives using quality improvement methodologies.
  • Manages and coordinates hospital bariatric compliance readiness for site visits.

Program Development and Coordination

  • Develops, coordinates, and provides education to physicians, staff, patients, and the community on relevant topics.
  • Makes follow-up calls to bariatric patients post-operatively to assess status and communicate with the surgeon's practice.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Leads interdisciplinary committees to improve clinical performance, standardize processes, and ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Develops and implements corrective action plans to address variations in care and improve performance.

Project Management and Communication

  • Captures and manages multiple competing priorities to achieve organizational goals.
  • Coordinates the development and deployment of educational plans for Stroke and Bariatric programs, including community education events.

  • Broad knowledge base in Bariatrics as it relates to the care of the patient [Required]
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]
  • Knowledge of process improvement strategies [Required]
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff [Required]

  • Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) [Required]
  • Knowledgeable in EHR and chart review and interpretation of care standards: Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational, problem solving and project management skills. [Required]

  • Basic to intermediate computers skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other tools [Required]
  • Able to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and achieve goals on time. Able to work independently. Must be self-motivated. [Required]
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams and function as team member for projects. [Required]
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, senior management, healthcare team members and other departments and/or external agencies. [Required]

  • Able to approach staff about quality issues with tact and diplomacy. [Required]
  • Knowledge related to telemedicine practice [Preferred]
  • Broad knowledge base in Bariatrics as related to care of the patient and program coordination [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get with the Guidelines Stroke Registry [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of state/federal regulatory agencies, accreditation standards and national society clinical guidelines [Preferred]
  • Quality improvement knowledge include but not limited to Centers for Medicare &Medicaid Services (CMS) outcomes, Value Based Purchasing, Bundle Payment, arid other national quality improvement initiatives [Preferred]

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's [Required]
  • Field Of Study Program required education Bariatric Nurse Certification (CBN) or achieved within two years of employment or higher level of education

Work Experience

  • 3+ nursing leadership experience [Required]
  • Stroke 8 hours [Required]

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]

$68,132.50 - $119,520.35
