About the role
The clinical nurse coordinator coordinates patient care with responsibilities including phone triage, prescription refills, physician communications, scheduling tests and procedures and is the face of the office for patients and their families. Attention to detail and a sense of advocacy is necessary. This is a M-F position with typical clinic hours.
Job Description
- Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
- Captures patient care orders, coordinates diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
- Aids physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Enforces compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
- Facilitates communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.

- Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table; typically standing or walking; typically bending, crouching, stooping; occasional lifting (25 lbs or less).
Education
- Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Registered Nursing; current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act; Basic Life Support Certification or obtain certification within one month of employment.
- Preferred Qualifications: No additional education unless stated elsewhere in the job posting.
Certifications/Professional Licenses
- Required: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
- Additional: More than one credential, certification or professional license may be required depending on the role.

- Required Qualifications: Nursing (2 Years).
