RN - Oncology
About the role
The Hematology and Oncology Department at Cleveland Clinic focuses on the diagnoses and treatment of various malignancies and hematologic diseases, from new diagnosis to the end of life. The dedicated caregivers in this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to patients receiving chemotherapy, targeted cancer therapies, radioactive iodine and other types of cancer-fighting therapies. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. You will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting required for acute care settings.
- Will consider licensed military RN experience.
- ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered.
- Any registered nurse or advanced practice nurse must obtain a cancer specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle, if they work in medical oncology, radiation oncology, cancer center or cancer clinic and/or administer chemotherapy within an accredited Cleveland Clinic facility.

- Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay
Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
Schedule
Full Time
Shift: Day/Night Rotation
