About the role
We're seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our team. This role is a leader in patient care, applying the Nursing Process and demonstrating leadership and partnership on interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the Nursing Process in delivering patient care.
- Affirms learning needs and implements teaching strategies tailored to diverse patient groups.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources efficiently, serving as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Evaluates and promotes changes to achieve optimal patient outcomes using data, information, and knowledge.
- Enhances customer satisfaction and employee morale, and improves the profession of nursing.
- Adapts to specific patient populations, ensuring privacy, clear explanations, and respectful communication.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Education: Registered Nurse Diploma preferred, but an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
- Work experience: No prior experience is required.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Computer skills, effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, and good time management.
Qualifications
- Professional responsibility and accountability for nursing practice.
- Supports Ochsner's philosophy of nursing.
Skills
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software specific to the role.
- Keyboard dexterity.
