RN, OBGYN Outpatient Temp
Stamford Health Medical Group is hiring a temporary/contract RN for our OBGYN practice. OBGYN experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate and develop patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and provide supervision & mentorship for non-RN team members.
- Serve as a resource to both staff and management in problem identification and resolution.
- Review schedules and organize patient flow; greet patients, document patient concerns, questions, etc., and accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms.
- Prepare patients for physical exams and conduct initial patient interviews, reviewing patient medical profiles, H&P, and document in EMR/manual charting as appropriate.
- Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, weight, and report any abnormalities to the physician.
- Assist with specimen collection and testing as necessary, documenting pertinent information in EMR.
- Assist patients as necessary (e.g., walking, transferring, dressing).
- Provide minor treatment as directed by the physician and assist physicians with minor procedures.
- Provide education after assessing the learning needs of the patient and/or family.
- Document all patient-related activities.
- Schedule patient testing and pre-certify if insurances require.
- Respond to all telephone messages (patient, physician offices, etc.).
- Perform end-of-month checks for expired supplies and medication.
- Stock rooms and maintain inventory of exam/procedure rooms.
- Order supplies as needed.
- Clean the exam/procedure room and equipment after each patient.
- Prepare exam/procedure room for the next patient and physician needs.
- Notify patients of test results (per physician instruction) and follow up.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, in-service education opportunities, and participate in continuing education programs.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse in CT.
- BLS Certification.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a similar position.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Location rotation between Old Greenwich, Stamford, & Darien. Schedule will be provided bimonthly.
