RN Nursing Home Manager

Responsibilities

• Aids in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating programs and activities in the nursing home.
• Assists in developing the organizational structure of the nursing home unit.
• Interprets the nursing home unit’s standards and guidelines to team members, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., and ensures they are followed.
• Represents the nursing home unit both internally and to the public, including governmental agencies, third party payers, and the general population.
• Works harmoniously with department managers regarding level of care transitions and general communication.
• Safeguards an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
• Serves as the lead for the Infection Control Committee and the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee.
• Supervises all members of the nursing home unit department, coordinating and approving time off, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, and directing and managing the workflow for the department.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan with a license in good standing.
• Licensed Practical Nurse applicants with a license in good standing will be considered if currently enrolled in an LPN to RN Bridge program.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in health care/business administration or related field preferred.
• Infection Control Preventionist Certification required, or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Previous experience in nursing home, senior care, or long-term care management required.
