RN Nursing Director

Location: Tulsa, OK – St. John Medical Center, Med Surg department

About the role

Direct daily operations, clinical workflows, and patient care delivery across the unit while maintaining strict compliance with medical, legal, and ethical healthcare standards. Oversee key clinical activities—including assessment, care planning, and service-level determinations—while driving patient satisfaction and resolving complex complaints.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end workforce planning, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development to maintain high clinical standards.
• Establish departmental goals aligned with organizational priorities; build, monitor, and manage the unit budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and resource optimization.
• Direct internal and external audit processes to ensure continuous survey readiness and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (required prior to hire).
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required; Master’s degree or combination of Bachelor’s degree and experience preferred.
• 5 years of nursing experience required; 10 years preferred.
• 2 years of leadership or management experience required; 5 years preferred.
