RN Nursing Director

Location: Evansville, IN – St. Vincent Evansville Hospital | Specialty: Cardiology and Cath Lab Services | Schedule: Full-time

About the role

Direct daily operations, clinical workflows, and patient care delivery across the unit, maintaining strict compliance with medical, legal, and ethical healthcare standards. Oversee key clinical activities—including assessment, care planning, and service level determinations—while driving patient satisfaction and resolving complex complaints. Lead end-to-end workforce planning, including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and ongoing staff development to maintain high clinical standards. Establish departmental goals aligned with organizational priorities; build, monitor, and manage the unit budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and resource optimization. Direct internal and external audit processes to ensure continuous survey readiness and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience required; 10 years of experience preferred.
• 2 years of leadership or management experience required; 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
