RN Nurse Supervisor - Part Time (Medical Insurance Eligible)

Williamsburg, Virginia – Hiring Range: $43.40 – $59.68 per hour (actual pay determined based on experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs).

Overview

Works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Managers and assumes responsibility for the smooth and effective operation of the hospital in the absence of the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing. Assists team members in the interpretation and application of facility policy. Coordinates the provision of appropriate staffing levels and resources for quality patient care. Makes rounds throughout the facility to assess operations and respond effectively to situations that arise. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. May perform RN duties by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating total nursing care of assigned patients. Utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to oversee patient care based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. Supervises and delegates non‑professional personnel to ensure optimum patient care. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to provide a comprehensive range of clinical services in accordance with Riverside Health System standards of excellence and strategic plans.

Responsibilities

• Delegate and prioritize tasks to facilitate quality patient care and ensure all patient care needs are met.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
• Identify and report variances, providing resolutions.
• Investigate nursing errors, complaints concerning nursing care, patient/visitor accidents, and counsel personnel as appropriate.
• Develop and educate staff on policies, procedures, best practices, and strategic goals.
• Direct the administration and operation of the hospital efficiently, effectively, and professionally.
• Notify on‑call administrator/management team as directed by hospital procedure.
• Round on all units, assist in planning nursing care, evaluate effectiveness of care, solve problems, interpret nursing policies, and assign patient rooms.
• Exercise good judgment in staffing and patient‑care decisions.
• Communicate and document changes in staffing, patient care, sick callouts, etc., appropriately.
• Accurately complete required documentation consistent with Riverside Health System standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia Department of Health Professions (required).
• CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Acute care experience (preferred).

Pay
