Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Milwaukee, WI, part of Acadia Healthcare's network, is a leading provider of medication-assisted treatment for Opioid Use Disorder.
About the role
Full-time RN Nurse Supervisor position with early morning hours (Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) in a lower-stress medication dispensary environment. No heavy patient lifting or bedside care required. Stable shifts with an early afternoon end time, offering a great work/life balance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the Medication Room complies with all facility policies, federal, and state laws and regulations at all times.
- Supervise daily clinical operations, including staff assignments, scheduling, and updates for providers and support staff.
- Evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service, or maintenance staff within the work group and other clinic staff as directed.
- Ensure medical records comply with facility policies, federal, and state laws; review records for compliance.
- Oversee quality assurance activities, compliance with operational standards, program development, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff.
- Administer medications per physician/provider orders, document medication administration, and maintain accurate counts of controlled substances.
- Perform blood and specimen collection, processing, and reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians.
- Transport medication to other locations or work on a CTC Mobile Unit based on clinic service model.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (RN).
- Current RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Current CPR certification where required by state regulation.
- Minimum of 2+ years of related nursing practice.
- Supervisory experience preferred, unless otherwise required by State or Licensing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in behavioral health or addiction recovery environments (inpatient or outpatient).
- Previous nursing experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (e.g., outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities).
- Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
- Experience in medication dispensing, monitoring patient dosing, and observing for adverse reactions or interactions.
- Understanding of nursing best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
- Accurate and timely documentation of medication administration records (MARs), patient vitals, and incident reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) for controlled substances and patient care.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff.
