About the role
ChildServe’s RN Nurse Residency program is designed for new RNs looking to build confidence in both clinical and professional skills.
Responsibilities
- Work full-time within one of our inpatient settings: Pediatric/Adolescent Complex Medical units, Pediatric Rehabilitation unit, or Medical Group Home.
- Engage in monthly check-ins with ChildServe Clinical Educator to support development.
- Hands-on practice performing pediatric sub-specialty clinical skills.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others.
- Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
- Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed.
- Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
Requirements
- One year or less of RN experience.
- Current valid license as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Documentation of current Basic Life Support certification.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Able to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
