About the role
Participates in the operations and activities of the nursing unit, staff development, and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet company and regulatory requirements. Provides high-quality patient care by acting as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians, and employees, and maintaining the efficient operation of the department.
The ICU Manager assists in planning, directing, and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24-hour basis while meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, managing supplies and equipment of the unit, promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and effective resource management.
HCA Florida University Hospital is a 165-bed facility serving Davie and the surrounding communities in Broward County, FL. Opened in 2021, the hospital has 600 colleagues and over 750 physicians, offering a full range of healthcare services including a 24/7 emergency department, maternity, orthopedics, oncology, neurosciences, diagnostic services, robotic and minimally invasive surgical services, and all private patient rooms. The hospital is located next to Nova Southeastern University.
Requirements
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Minimum 3 years of Critical Care clinical nursing experience in an acute care Hospital setting
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a full-time Charge Nurse/Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management in an acute care Hospital setting
