RN - Nurse Lead, Step Down Unit, Part Time, Night Shift

Role Overview

Provides unit-based leadership in a healthcare setting, collaborating with the Nurse Manager, staff, and physicians to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs staff activities
• Manages staffing based on patient acuity
• Evaluates performance
• Ensures compliance with safety standards, quality measures, and hospital policies through participation in performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborates in developing care plans, addressing patient and family needs
• Fosters a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Maintains department safety, equipment, and cleanliness
• Manages resources effectively to control costs
• Recruits, trains, coaches, and disciplines staff
• Involves in hiring and termination decisions
• Works collaboratively to resolve operational issues and improve clinical services

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent; Master's preferred
• Minimum of five years’ technical experience, with supervisory skills
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on patient safety and quality care
