RN, Nurse Educator - Critical Care

About the Role

The Nurse Educator functions within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, providing consultation and education to patients, families, staff, and physicians regarding patient care. This role assumes a leadership position in patient care issues and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the learning needs of associates within patient care settings to plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in educational programs.
  • Act as a resource for staff regarding critical thinking, equipment use, and problem-solving in clinical situations.
  • Develop, review, and revise standards of care, policies, procedures, practice guidelines, classes, and protocols to reflect current evidence-based practice and technology.
  • Create patient education materials that are easy-to-read, culturally sensitive, and support the educational needs of patients, families, and the community.
  • Utilize written, electronic, and web-based platforms to provide education and promote learning, including collaboration on language access services for diverse patient populations.
  • Develop education plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio; professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in area of specialization preferred.
