About the role
Tower Behavioral Health in Reading, PA is expanding and seeks passionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join their nursing team. The facility offers inpatient and outpatient programs, counseling, treatment for substance use disorders, and other services.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs of patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans, maintaining medical records, and educating patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Ensure physician’s orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
- Maintain ongoing assessment of patient status and gather pertinent information for documentation.
- Collaborate with others to ensure all patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
- Notify physicians of significant changes in patient status, such as difficulties with detox, medical emergencies, or changes in medical status related to medication responses.
- Ensure nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and complete the initial treatment plan upon admission.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
- Accurately administer medications per ordered notes and document accurate counts of controlled substance medication administrations on required documents.
- Complete admission and discharge processes efficiently and accurately as directed.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, giving direct attention, and maintaining rational detachment.
- Provide direction or coordinate activities of the unit as directed.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in patient treatment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- One or more years’ nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
- Current RN license as required by state.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Pay
Compensation for roles at Tower Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the role and level of experience. Salary range $41 - $50 / hour (including shift differential).
Schedule
Full Time Nights 3x12hr shifts, Every 3rd weekend rotation
