Registered Nurse (RN) NIGHTS (sign on bonus offered)

Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses New Day Academy, a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to psychiatric patients (children and adolescents) utilizing established nursing processes
• Documentation of patient care and progress
• Conduct nursing groups and follow program guidelines
• Administer medications
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment by intervening with disturbed patients
• Manage admissions and discharges
• Use restraint techniques when necessary

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Graduate from an accredited RN School of Nursing (diploma or associate degree in nursing required)
• Current status as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama
