About the role

The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health is accredited by the ANCC and offers a collaborative learning environment for new graduates to transition into professional nursing roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients.
  • Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients.
  • Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members.
  • Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts concerning the health care of the patient.

Requirements

  • Recent or upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN preferred - open to ADN at select locations.
  • Current BLS card (through American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI).
  • No more than 12 months of RN experience.
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Maintains clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations.
  • One year experience in an acute care hospital setting is desired.

Skills

  • Specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care.
  • Knowledge of the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age-specific, and educational needs of the patient.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers.

Pay

  • $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

  • Work 3, 12 hour night shifts a week.
