Role Overview The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver healthcare within the RN scope of practice. Responsibilities Provide competent healthcare to patients, families, and communities, ensuring adherence to care standards and scope of practice.Ensure complete and accurate documentation of care provided.Offer health and wellness education to individuals and groups.Act as a preceptor, supporting staff and healthcare students’ development.Lead quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing departmental standing orders.Perform clinical tasks such as lumbar punctures, medication administration via IV and IM routes, visual field testing, MRI safety screenings, and patient phone triage.Obtain prior authorization from insurance companies. Qualifications & Skills Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) within 30 days, RN license (Illinois). Education: College diploma in Nursing. Skills: Strong clinical skills, documentation accuracy, patient education, leadership, and teamwork.
