RN Neuro Critical Care
About the unit
The Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14-bed Intensive Care Unit within the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth Hospital. As part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center, specializing in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions, including:
- Hemorrhagic stroke
- Ischemic stroke
- Seizures
- Hydrocephalus with critical care needs
Our nurses work collaboratively with nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized care. The team fosters a culture of collaboration, kindness, teamwork, and learning, resulting in a very low turnover rate.
