What You’ll Do

Working under the direction of, and in collaboration with the Director, Assistant Director, Physicians and other staff, you will develop the department's mission, vision, values, goals, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring pre-surgical history and physical assessments of patients, including physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs, and communicating these findings appropriately to the surgeon and consulting physicians. In collaboration with the physician, patient, and family, you will provide education concerning the surgical procedure, pre-operative requirements, expectations of the hospital stay, and follow-up care at home.

Requirements

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state.
• If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence.
• BSN degree preferred.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 180 days.
• Perioperative RN Competency Day annually by transcript due date.
