Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a talented RN MS/TELE General Surgery 5S for a contract position in Tuscaloosa, AL.
About the Role
The General Surgical Unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in exceptional postoperative care for general surgical patients. The role involves a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and includes training in all aspects of postoperative care, including pain management, mobility, and bedside procedures. Collaboration with local family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons is emphasized.
Responsibilities
- Travel to various units and hospitals as needed.
- Work 36 or 48 hours per week.
- Accept holidays and every other weekend.
Requirements
- Required education: Associate degree in nursing.
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, RED CROSS.
- Required licenses: Registered Nurse State of Alabama or compact license.
- Required experience: 2 years of experience, or 18 months with 1 year of recent experience in the field of specialty.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
- Must have 1 year of recent experience in the field of specialty.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of postoperative care and pain management.
