About the Role
The Pulmonary Unit is growing! The clinical staff on Pulmonary work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to provide top-notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues. In the state-of-the-art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
- Function within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
- Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
- Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible.
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- BLS certification required.
- For PRN positions: One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
