About the role

The Registered Nurse works in Jefferson's Medical Progressive Care Unit, a 28-bed unit equipped for high-level cardiac monitoring. The unit cares for patients with Respiratory Failure, Heart Failure, and those requiring Bi-PAP, chest tubes, and titratable intravenous drips.

Responsibilities

  • Provides transformational leadership in a professional practice setting.

  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and promote patient safety.
  • Ensures appropriate order sets are used and supervises LPN scope of practice.
  • Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care.
  • Analyzes patient health status and compares it to norms.
  • Notifies physicians and supervisors of changes in patient condition and intervenes accordingly.

  • Manages time effectively to complete assigned duties within work shifts.
  • Plays an active role in improving patient and family satisfaction.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, resolving concerns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearances.
  • Current State of Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state license through the eNLC.
  • CPR certification preferred.
