RN, Medical Intermediate Unit - Nights

Medical intermediate is a 30-bed unit that cares for a variety of diagnoses and complex medical conditions including the care of surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients. The nursing team values unit teamwork, quality patient care, and has a passion for growth and development. With several experienced charge nurses who joined the team upon the unit’s opening, this group has a strong foundation and is eager to grow.
Support staff on this unit include nursing assistants, a clinical coordinator, and a clinical educator. At Saint Luke’s, you’ll gain hands-on experience with a diverse range of medical conditions and care processes—enhancing your clinical expertise and making a meaningful difference every day.
About the role
In this hospital setting, you will be accountable for utilizing the nursing process. You will perform patient care, delegate patient care tasks, and supervise other patient care staff. You will coordinate the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consult with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care
- Perform and delegate patient care tasks
- Supervise other patient care staff
- Coordinate the plan of care for assigned patients
- Consult with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency in policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures
Requirements
- Active Missouri RN license (or compact license)
- Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
