About the role
Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is a Magnet Hospital, recognized for excellence in nursing. The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a 26-bed unit treating patients with severe medical conditions like sepsis, altered mental status, DKA, stroke, and post-cardiac arrest hypothermia. The MICU also monitors patients needing suicide and overdose monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional care to patients and their families.
- Implement, monitor, and update patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patients' conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and execute physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
- Provide healthcare education as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification in critical care areas (if applicable).
- One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN), recent nursing graduate with ICU practicum, nurse assistant extern (NAE), inpatient clinical experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).

- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Pay
- Pay Range Minimum: $35.50 per hour.
- Pay Range Maximum: $55.60 per hour.
Schedule
A caregiver works a day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
