RN - Med/Tele FT Nights
About the Role
Self-motivated RN who thrives in a fast-paced, telemetry-focused environment. We are looking for a nurse with a desire to specialize in stroke care; training provided for TJC Primary Stroke Certification.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a telemetry or medical-surgical unit preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Louisiana RN license required
- Completion of Basic EKG Course within 6 months of hire
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and telemetry monitoring skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and medical monitoring in our dynamic Med Telemetry Unit
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment
- Respond promptly to changes and alarms, recognizing medical emergencies and arrhythmias
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate interdisciplinary care
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in line with evidence-based practices
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes
- Participate in stroke-specific care protocols as part of a TJC-certified Stroke Unit
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care teams to ensure quality outcomes
