RN Med Surg Tele Seasonal

About the role

The RN Med Surg Tele Seasonal provides direct patient care with a focus on cardiovascular telemetry, supporting patient outcomes and nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic Telemetry environment
• Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Telemetry patients
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
• Participate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvement
• Promote a supportive Telemetry environment
• Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
• Maintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned
• Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Seasonal program runs from Sept. 20, 2026 – April 3, 2027
• Minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
• Four (4) weekend shifts required each 4‑week schedule period
• Two (2) holiday shifts required during the 32‑week period (as defined by Department Manager)
