About the role

MercyOne Central Iowa seeks a dynamic Registered Nurse to join our team. This position offers a competitive sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 and a relocation bonus.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient's care plan in collaboration with the physician.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Supervises health care members (e.g., patient care technicians) with patients.
• Utilizes computer applications and communication technologies appropriate to the work setting to enter, retrieve, and analyze information and facilitate communication and education.
• Maintains knowledge of documentation requirements needed for patients' records.
• Works independently with limited direct supervision using the Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Medical Center policies, nursing standards, and professional judgment.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment set-up, maintenance, and use (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices).
• Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug libraries and monitor alarms whenever available to maximize patient safety.
• Works rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Requirements

• 0-1 years of experience: $10,000 sign-on bonus
• 1-3 years of experience: $15,000 sign-on bonus
• 3+ years of experience: $20,000 sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa required.
