About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Neuro Stroke Services department, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with medical providers and the care team. This PRN position is for Nights, focusing on assessing patient conditions, performing procedures, administering medications, and educating patients and families. You’ll embody the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required
• Specialty Certification where required (e.g., Chemotherapy, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS)
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Complies with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs
• Minimum of 1 year of current acute hospital Med Surg experience
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada

Pay

Hourly Wage Estimate: $60.41 - $60.41 / hour
