This position is on the Atwood 3 unit at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. Atwood 3 is a 45‑bed primary surgical nursing unit with subspecialties in general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, urology, vascular surgeries, and interventional radiology procedures. It is also a bariatric surgical center of excellence. The patient population is primarily elective surgical cases received from the recovery room, ranging from pediatric through geriatric. The unit provides basic arrhythmia detection via wireless telemetry for surgical patients, with an average length of stay of three days.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee, coordinate total nursing care for patients, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient‑team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice within the assigned patient‑care unit. The role requires knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age groups of patients regularly served.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent (required)
- Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Three (3) months of experience (preferred)
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19, or sign a statement certifying exemption for medical or personal reasons upon hire

Benefits are available to regular‑status employees scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Pay
Pay rate is determined based on level of experience. Pay range: USD $42.37 – USD $77.81 per hour.
Schedule
36 hours per week. Evening/Night shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, with weekend and holiday rotation.
