About the role
Works under the supervision of the Administrator. Oversees the entire Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process focusing on delivery of care, resident outcomes, reimbursement, and quality assurance of the RAI process.
Responsibilities
- Reports status of Minimum Data Set(MDS) assessments due to Administrator on a weekly basis.
- Schedules and completes MDS assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilizes auditing tools to manage RUG, ADL score, 5 Star, QRP, and QM trends.
- Communicates with Accounts Receivable analysts regarding PPS assessments ready to be billed.
- Completes required percentage of MDS from previous month by monthly deadline for timely billing.
- Participates in meetings and training events provided by Quality/Reimbursement team.
- Trains direct care staff on accurate documentation of care provision.
- Attends and participates in monthly facility Quality Assurance (QA) meetings (focusing on QM/5 Star/QRP).
- Serves as a resource to QA team in developing QAPI plans related to QM/5 Star reports.
- Collaborates with nursing administration, providers, and rehab to ensure quality care and appropriate implementation of the patient's plan of care.
Qualifications
- 2 years Long-term care or Skilled Nursing experience (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state (Upon Hire, Required)
- BLS/CPR/AED - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days (Required)
- Certified MDS Assessment Coordinator (CMAC) (Preferred)
