About the role
The Nurse Manager provides leadership and operational oversight for the Employee Health and Infection Control Department, as well as nurse management for OB, Specialties, Winthrop Primary Care, and Project Shine. The Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Nursing and collaborates with the Administrative Director to ensure all compliance, regulatory goals, and workflows follow best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of nurses and medical assistants in assigned departments (OB, Specialties, Winthrop Primary Care, Project Shine).
- Evaluate and manage workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Daily management of department staff.
- Assists with customer service recovery as appropriate.
- Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Promote a sense of “teamwork” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation.
- Solve problems independently or know when to seek consultation.
- Displays outstanding customer service skills when interacting with all NeighborHealth customers according to the ACE model.
- Adhere to all NeighborHealth and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in required departmental activities and meetings.
- Support patient safety, quality improvement, and risk reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT/Data teams to track performance metrics and outcomes.
- Perform other related duties.
Job Components
- Full-time oversight of EH/IC department administrative and clinical services.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies including Joint Commission and DPH.
- Ensures annual clinical skills compliance of nurses are completed.
- Responsible for the annual reviews of nurses and EH/IC staff.
Qualifications
- BSN required.
- Current RN license in Massachusetts.
- CPR/BCLS certification required.
- Occupational Health or Infection Control certification preferred.
- Required: Minimum of 3-5 years licensed nursing practice experience in an ambulatory care practice setting.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant management experience.
- Prior experience in Employee Health, Infection Control, or Occupational Health strongly preferred.
- Ability to use data to evaluate outcomes required.
- Working knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems, performance dashboards, database products, and analysis tools.
- Must have the ability to lead change in an organization and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
Benefits
Starting at $109,000 annually, and up to $172,640 annually based on experience.
