RN Manager - Family Maternity Services

About the Role

The Nurse Manager oversees the FMS Department, including LDRP, Nursery, antepartum, gynecology, and outpatient testing units. They supervise staff, interpret policies, perform various nursing duties as needed, and maintain public relations through teaching, civic engagement, and public speaking to ensure quality patient care and unit operations.

Responsibilities

• Determine and implement nursing philosophies, formulate care standards, and maintain policies.
• Manage staffing, supplies, and facilities.
• Conduct staff interviews, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Forecast unit needs and adapt to evolving patient requirements.
• Review performance data and improve care quality.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Conduct patient rounds and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Prepare reports for administration and regulatory bodies.
• Manage within productivity allowances and support educational programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• At least 5 years of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices, project management, fiscal management, and emergency nursing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop personnel.
