RN Manager - Family Maternity Services

About the role

The Nurse Manager oversees the FMS Department, including LDRP, Nursery, antepartum, gynecology, and outpatient testing, ensuring quality patient care and staff supervision. This role requires multitasking, leadership, and a comprehensive understanding of nursing operations to ensure optimal patient care and departmental efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Developing unit philosophy, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Managing personnel hiring, evaluation, discipline, and staffing needs.
• Forecasting unit needs and adapting to changing patient requirements.
• Evaluating department performance and implementing improvements.
• Conducting patient rounds and maintaining records for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Coordinating with other units and hospital departments, and providing staff education.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety, infection control, and quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• At least 5 years of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices, project management, fiscal management, and EMTALA.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop staff.
