RN / LPN - Weekend Option

About the role

As a Charge Nurse at Miller's, you are responsible for the nursing care of the patients on your shift. You follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for your patients and assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in the patient record when needed. You supervise the direct resident care personnel on your shift.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
• Absorb and apply nursing policies and procedures.
• Administer medication, understand possible side effects, and ensure proper treatment administration.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to resident care.
• Show comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, including the physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of residents.
• Understand and adhere to organizational structure and duties of employees under the supervision of the Unit Manager.
• Exercise competent supervision and leadership skills.
• Show a caring attitude and maintain a good working relationship with other staff members.
• Make decisions based on written and verbal instructions while maintaining emotional stability.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for gainful employment within the facility.
• Display professional manner and appearance.

Qualifications

• Passionate about serving others.
• Able to work with a dedicated team.
• Able to work in an environment involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (Exposure Category I).
