RN/LPN, Adult Psychiatric (Inpatient) - 32 hours, Evenings

About the role

Everyone is a caregiver at UMass Memorial Health, regardless of title or responsibilities. This position is open to internal caregivers, students, or contingent workers/agency workers at UMass Memorial Health.

Responsibilities

• RN: Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• RN: Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• RN: Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• RN: Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• RN: Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
• RN: Documents patient care according to standard procedure.
• LPN: Uses Nursing process to assess and plan care.
• LPN: Effectively performs Nursing tasks utilizing policy and procedure.
• LPN: Functions effectively in all urgent and emergent situations.
• LPN: Delegates effectively.
• LPN: Coordinates exchange of information between staff, physicians and administration.
• LPN: Manages the dynamics of changing flow and acuity of the unit.
• Hyperbaric RN: Focuses on the administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Physician and is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.
• Hyperbaric RN: Designated as the HBO Safety Director.

Requirements

• RN: Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
• RN: Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
• RN: BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.
• LPN: Graduation and training from an accredited school of nursing with current license by the Massachusetts B.O.R.N. American Heart Association or equivalent B.L.S. certification for health care provider required upon hire or during orientation.

Qualifications

• RN: Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
• LPN: Minimum of one year of general medical-surgical experience is preferred.

Skills

• RN: Knowledge of the nursing process.
• LPN: Effective performance of nursing tasks.
• Hyperbaric RN: Certification as a CHT, CHRN or DMT within 36 months of hire.
• Hyperbaric RN: Completion of a National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology approved hyperbaric medicine introductory course within 6 months of hire.

Pay

The hiring range is $24.44 - $65.01 per hour. The final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule

Holidays - Every Other Holiday, Sunday through Saturday, Weekends - Every Other Weekend
