Registered Nurses (RN)
- Managing and executing all nursing duties from clients’ admission to program completion
- Consulting with clinical team members to develop and implement individualized substance abuse treatment plans
- Pursuing continual improvement of nursing function, underscoring ethics and consistent with regulatory standards
- Administering medications and assists physicians in conducting examinations and treatments as warranted
- Maintaining required client records related to assessments, diagnoses, and treatments
- Conducting educational classes and seminars for clients and staff concerning: health, medical issues, infection control and related topics
- Other duties as assigned
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Makes sure clients self-administering medications and reactions to medication are monitored
- Works with Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care according to physician orders, nursing care plan or established protocols
- Conducts initial health screenings and assessments of clients’ medical needs
- Aids physicians with client examinations or treatments
- Charts vital signs, treatments performed and medications administered and maintains records
Job Requirements
- Current License as a Registered Nurse in the state of hire required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
- At least 2 years of work experience in a social service environment or related field required
- Concurrent experience with relevant client population (adult, youth or outpatient) preferred
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Vocational Practice Nurse (VPN) as required by state
- High school diploma
- Knowledge of nursing treatment, planning and assessment as acquired through completion of twelve to eighteen months post-high school training at an approved, accredited school of practical or vocational nursing; as well as successful completion of pharmacology coursework necessary to administer medications
- Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, families, staff and physicians; and to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity necessary to elicit clients’ cooperation and minimize apprehensions
- Analytical abilities necessary to gather and interpret assessment data, provide treatment in accordance with established protocols, complete necessary documentation, and determine need for appropriate referrals
- Physical Requirements: Normal or corrected vision and some color vision, necessary to read thermometers, blood pressure gauges, dipstick analysis results, and so forth; and to see and evaluate presented symptoms and injuries (critical).
- Communication abilities necessary to gather and exchange information with clients and staff in person or by telephone provide care instructions, and schedule appointments (critical).
- Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy, and reading reports, on a regular basis (critical).
- Ability to respond to telephone, pages and intercoms (critical).
- Manual dexterity necessary to manipulate instruments and syringes, apply bandages or sterile wipes, and accept and pass instruments and specimens; and touch sensitivity necessary to detect pulse, palpate body areas, and perform treatments with minimal client discomfort (critical).
- Depending on Center assigned, ability to drive vehicle to various locations (essential).
- Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data on a regular basis (essential).
- Ability to stoop and bend, ability to reach and grab with arms and hands, and ability to walk and move about for up to two hours at a time (desirable).
Compensation
- LPN: $30.00 - $39.58 per hour
- RN: $36.96 - $46.87 per hour
Shift Differential Pay
- To qualify for differential payments, a minimum of 2 hours per shift must be worked (Saturday and Sunday shifts are exempt from this requirement).
- Monday through Friday: Hours worked from 11:15 PM to 7:45 AM qualify for an additional $3.00 per hour.
- Saturday and Sunday: Hours worked from 11:15 PM to 7:45 PM qualify for an additional $5.00 per hour.
