Job Summary
Provides and coordinates inpatient breastfeeding needs. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity. Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. Updates resources and documentation. Trains staff members and community members in breastfeeding techniques. Performs other duties.

Required Education
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in nursing from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Required Experience
- Two (2) years of registered nursing experience
Preferred Experience
- Advanced lactation consultant training
- Two (2) to five (5) years of obstetrical registered nursing experience
Required Certification/License/Registry
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) within one (1) year post-hire
Preferred Certification/License/Registry
- IBCLC credential from the IBLCE at hire
