About the Role
To assess, plan, and implement nursing care to meet patients’ needs by following the appropriate policies and procedures of the assigned department.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Diploma Nursing Program or an Associate Degree in Nursing (AA) or higher.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- IBCLC Certification by International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.
Requirements
- Unexpired state licensure from Maryland Board of Nursing or compact state board of nursing.
- IBCLC certification.
- Registered Nurse Certification in specialty (preferred).
- Minimum of one year direct experience in Labor/Delivery, OR circulator role, Post Partum, and Newborn Nursery.
- CPR and NRP certification (CPR required within 30 days of hire; NRP required within 6 months of hire).
- Maryland state RN license.
- PACU experience preferred.
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications as required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrent projects, meet deadlines, and produce quality work.
- Effective communication with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing, to promote a positive work atmosphere.
- Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction as a daily practice.
