About the role

West Penn's Obstetrics Department consists of 15 Labor & Delivery beds, 6 Triage Rooms, 3 C-Section Operating Rooms, 4 PACU beds, and a 20 bed antepartum unit, with nurses cross-trained to work in all areas. Responsibilities

• Assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible
• Provides leadership in a professional practice setting
• Assigns or delegates tasks based on the needs of the patient and skill level of the RN, LPN or support staff; assigns duties and lunches for staff when performing charge role
• Considers maintenance of a safe environment, patient condition, complexity of the intervention and predictability of the outcome

Requirements

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• CPR certification

Qualifications

• Certification in Labor & Delivery (RNC-OB, C-EFM, RNC-MNN) preferred
• 1 year or more of hospital RN experience preferred

Schedule

This role is full-time 36 hours per week and rotational (days/nights, weekend shift requirements). This position will require mandatory call per West Penn CBA.
