RN - Labor & Birth / Nights

Nights, Full Time, 36 hours per week at Mercy Hospital - W Memorial Rd.

Overview

We are a high-paced, high-energy unit specializing in Obstetrics and Mother Baby, Well Newborn Care, and Post Women’s Surgical care. Our unit includes:

• 40 Mother-Baby rooms
• 15 Labor-Delivery-Recovery (LDR) rooms
• 14 High-Risk Antepartum rooms
• 8-bed OB Emergency Department (OBED) unit
• 4 Low-Intervention Birth Center (LIBC) Birthing Suites
• 4 Pre/Post rooms
• 3 Operating Room (OR) suites (where we circulate all of our own cases)

Within our unit, we also have full-time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatients and outpatients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and the second leading in the Ministry. Our teams offer a comprehensive suite of services at the Love Family's Women's Center.

Nurses are expected to maintain competencies in Labor & Birth, Antepartum, and OB Emergency Department, and may be assigned to float between these departments based on patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed; must meet all state board of nursing requirements
• Physical requirements/demands:
  • Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Prolonged standing and walking each shift
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
